Keeping your Employees Motivated to Stay Fit and Healthy

Employees Stay Fit HealthyAbsenteeism and poor morale are two of the most common things that contribute to unproductive workforce. While many companies realize that healthy staff can benefit the entire organization, they just don’t know how to keep their people moving. Having said that, it is important that companies motivate their employees to stay fit and healthy for better performance.

The Vancouver Sun came up with a list of incentives that can help motivate the employees to stay fit.

  1. Decide on what type of competition you would like your employees to engage in. You would need to determine if the ultimate goal is to lose weight or maintain their current weight.
  2. Don’t forget to set the time, goal and incentives. Set a specific time of the year when your employees would have to participate in a weight loss competition. Incentives for the weight loss program can be as simple as coupons to local businesses or free massages.
  3. Decide whether the program involves a team or individual format. Ideal team should consist of three to five members.
