Popular online career site, Glassdoor, has conducted a study on how appreciation affects and motivates an employee’s work performance. According to the results of their study, at least 80% of big and small business employees are more encouraged to work harder when they are appreciated for a work well done.
In line with this, some employees are reported to work harder because a demanding boss prompts them or they fear losing their jobs.
For an employee to stay longer in the company and work even harder as well as do better to improve, showing gratitude is essential. More than 50% of the workers included in the survey feel more energetic to do better if they feel more sincere appreciations from their supervisors and bosses.
