When employees find out they have new uniforms, rarely do they get excited as it usually will be something generic and boring, something workers don’t usually have a say over. However, this wasn’t the case when Tube staff working on London’s Underground.
Red or Dead, a popular British fashion brand, designed the uniforms and even had specific designs for female employees. The co-founder of the company himself, Wayne Hemingway, designed what LU employees would soon be seen wearing.
In an article on BBC News, Mr Hemingway said: “The London Underground community have been a vocal lot during the design and development process and rightly so when it comes to something that they have to wear for longer than anything else in their wardrobes.”
