If you own a small business then this should be a warning for you: if you think that 2013 or the previous years were tough on your business, you should be more worried about what 2014 could bring. Some small business owners are claiming that it would be the toughest year for them.
Next year the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act’s Health Insurance Tax (HIT) will raise insurance premiums to as high as $500 per employee. That’s something that most small businesses cannot afford.
According to Taylor Knopf for cnsnews.com, “Mike Mitternight, owner of Factory Service Agency in Louisiana, expressed his frustration with the HIT because it is becoming more difficult for him to stay in business every year. “
