Never create two types of employees – family and non-family. Conflicts are normal for a lot of small startups and family-owned companies. With regard to conflicts of interest in family-owned businesses, they are very difficult to resolve because there are three levels involved: business issues, family issues and ownership issues. Family ownership has many advantages but you should be careful and run the business in a way that it’s fair to all and doesn’t hurt company morale.
